Its Been a While

It has been a while. A long while, actually.
The last time I sat down to write a post on this blog, I was living in the UK, working as a Data Analytics Solution Architect. Life looked very different then — different timezone, different role, different chapter entirely. If you have been a reader since those days, thank you for still being here. If you are new, welcome. Either way, I owe you a proper explanation for the silence.
Where I Have Been
In late 2022, I packed up and moved back to New York. Specifically back to the city I know best — back to the Bronx, back home.
The move itself was enough to keep anyone off the internet for a while, the professional transition that came with it was what really consumed my time and attention. I rejoined Oracle and stepped into a new role as a Data Engineer on a team that delivers AI and ML projects for internal users. It is a different kind of work from solution architecture — closer to the metal, deeper in the stack, and honestly more hands-on than anything I have done in years.
The learning curve was real. Getting settled into a new team, a new technical focus, and a new city — all at the same time — does not leave a lot of room for blogging. Something had to give, and for a few years, this blog was it.
Why I Am Back

The honest answer is that things are starting to settle down. The role feels less new. The work feels less overwhelming. And I have started doing things again that are worth writing about.
The shift into data engineering — and specifically into AI and ML delivery on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure — has given me a lot of material. I am building things I could not have written about two years ago because I had not built them yet. That is the best reason I know to start writing again.
This blog has always been about sharing what I am actually working on, not just commenting on what others are doing. That has not changed. If anything, the new role has made the content more concrete and more practitioner-focused than it used to be.
What Is Coming
I am not going to promise a posting schedule that I know I cannot keep. What I can say is that I have a few things in the works that I am genuinely excited to share.
And speaking of moves, this blog has made one of its own. It used to live on Wix, but it now has a new home: a self-hosted Grav instance running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. I will be writing a separate post about the move, the new technical stack, and what I learned along the way.
I have also been building a Select AI Agent on Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse: a natural-language interface to financial data that brings NL2SQL and RAG together in a single agent. I am turning that project into a multi-part series, with the full code going up on GitHub. Part 1 covers the overall architecture and how I built the NL2SQL and RAG agents. Part 2 goes deeper into custom SQL tools for trend analysis, forecasting, and anomaly detection.
There is plenty more to come.
It is good to be back.
